Park and Nature Walks

As an alternative to virtual therapy during the pandemic I began meeting with patients for walks in local parks in Brooklyn and it proved to be a transformational on its own. I will continue to offer this modality as we transition to a “new normal”. Park walks help in unique ways – the curative experience of being in nature, the physical and emotional benefits of exercise, exposure to sunlight as a way to combat seasonal affective disorders, as an in-person alternative, and for the client to feel more connected in the therapeutic relationship and to their world. We meet in Prospect Park, The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and Fort Greene Park.
